Simon Stålenhag is a Swedish artist and author who created the original Tales from the Loop book. He serves as a consultant[1] and co-executive producer of the Prime Video series Tales from the Loop based on his work.[2]
Regarding the series, he stated that he was most excited to see in the adaptation the close-ups of people's faces, as while he could write about characters and feelings and paint people, he can't paint close-ups.[1] He describes the series as being about being a kid, and growing up, and realizing that adults don't have a clue what's going on.[2] Showrunner Nathaniel Halpern praised Stålenhag's assistance on the series, stating that he would always reply to e-mails and was an invaluable design source.[3]
